Burdened by exorbitant datacenter costs, they engaged Pyramid to strategize and implement measures to slash their IT infrastructure spend.
A trusted partner, Pyramid Consulting was already providing the company with application development and testing, so ramp up was quick and easy. In just a month, our Digital Practice Director, Rajesh Thampi, and our Microsoft 365 Practice Director, Mark Wurslein, had assessed their infrastructure with proprietary tools and identified platform optimization opportunities and license savings opportunities.
Then our delivery team got to work. Our initial analysis found a number of servers that were under-utilized or completely untouched, which we turned off. Along with additional optimizations strategies, were able to cut their server needs in half before migrating from their datacenter to the Azure Cloud. We also leveraged our partnership with a trusted hosting provider to outsource their production environments.
The next phase involved securely migrating their entire Exchange environment to Microsoft 365, lifting and shifting mailboxes. Finally, Pyramid is managing their cloud environment to ensure its ongoing security and scalability.
With the migration of mailboxes complete, and their newly Cloud-based Dev/Test environment going live in early May, Pyramid Consulting was able to successfully reduce costs in just four months. Now, they are operating at higher efficiency, with the new ability to scale their mailboxes and Azure environments efficiently and securely.
